Truck Book...

He saw this old book about trucks in the box. He got it by himself and was immediately absorbed by the colorful pictures. Which reminds me that I have to bring the children’s books out so that our baby can “read” books whenever he wants. Gotta make this accessible to the kids so they will grow up loving...

Spongebob 48 Hour Marathon at Nickelodeo...

My son loves Spongebob. That’s what he always watch on TV. He is not into stuffed toys that much but when we went out look what he wanted me to buy. Stuffed toys are renowned dust collectors. So I cringed when he gave me that irresistible look. Good thing he changed his mind right away. Our house is crowded enough as it is so when he said he’d rather buy another toy I let out a sigh of relief. whew! What he doesn’t want to miss is the Spongebob 48 hour marathon at Nickelodeon. It’s happening from December 31 to January 2. He’s already...

Sports...

Lately I’ve been thinking of getting my sons into a particular sport. I was thinking of maybe encouraging him to have swimming lessons, it’s just that there aren’t too many available where we are located. Or maybe have him join a Martial Arts club. Since my husband and I consider ourselves as borderline geeks – without much experience in sports – we want a different type of upbringing for our sons. Although husband was good at table tennis and has a trophy to show for it, we hope that our sons will have a bit more sportier life than us. ...

Tips on Buying the Right Toy for Your Ki...

Before heading out to the barcode scanner to buy that new toy for your kid ask yourself these four questions first to see if that toy is worth buying. 1. Is the toy suitable? Aside from checking the recommended age for that particular toy also consider your child’s individual skills and capabilities to see if the toy is suited for your child. 2. Is the toy safe? Toys with small parts are choking hazards, so are toys with small magnets. Just do away with those toys and your child will be safe. 3. Is the toy sturdy? Some parts like the eyes or buttons can be...

Why I Love Having a Preschooler...

If you were to ask me which age I like best – that’s when my child became a preschooler.  It’s because there’s no more sleepless and dirty diapers associated with babies and no more running after active toddlers.  Now that Z is a preschooler we can have long conversations.  Sure, he asks a lot of things but at least he can also hold a conversation with me especially when he’s in the mood to talk.  We already share the same hobbies like watching movies at HBO.  He can be more talkative than your average movie buddy but at least...

Smart Mom’s Guide to Raising Your Preschooler

Smart Mom’s Guide to Raising Your ...

I was browsing Fully Booked when this book caught my eye: It’s only P299 so I immediately bought it. I have already browsed the book and so far I’m satisfied with what I saw. There are lots of advices from other moms and from experts and spaces to write. There are also charts, fun activities, and recipes I can cook with my child. If you want a copy, just go to the nearest Fully Booked outlet.  Fully Booked has lots of books on variety of topics, even about portable oxygen concentrators.  The best thing about them is they have copies for browsing so you...

Get Toy Story 3 Toys at Shell Outlets...

Children may have a lot of human growth hormone in their body but they would never grow fast enough to outgrow toys. That’s why when I saw these Toy Story 3 toys that you can buy at Shell outlets my heart skipped a beat. I’m sure my son would love to have these. After watching the movie he can’t have stop talking about Andy, Woody, Buzz, and even Bonnie.  So I told hubby to, for the meantime, buy gas at Shell instead of Caltex so our little boy can have these cute toys in his collection.  And oh, while I was doing this post he saw the picture above...

Three Year Old Smoker...

This is really heartbreaking.  More and more children are getting addicted to smoking.  After the two year old Indonesian toddler was revealed to smoke as much as 40 sticks or two packs of cigarettes per day another picture of a toddler, this time a three year old girl from China has surfaced.  Three year old Ya Wen is said to be smoking a pack of cigarettes a day and had also taken up drinking alcohol.  Her mother said that she picked up the nasty habits after she recovered from coma after being hit by a speeding van.  After arriving home from the hospital, her...

Red Nose...

Last week, I noticed the tip of Z’s nose was turning red. Upon closer inspection I realized he has a pimple on the tip of his nose. I couldn’t help from laughing the longer I stared at his nose. He looks so innocent and even asked me what a pimple was. I told him to look at the mirror and see for himself. Upon checking his nose he smiled too. We both laughed at his cute nose. I told him he looks like Rudolph the Red-nosed reindeer. Of course he was still too young to take some acne medicine so we just let it pass. In just a few days it was gone and his...

Meet and Greet the Sesame Street Gang at SM MOA

Meet and Greet the Sesame Street Gang at...

If your child is a fan of Sesame Street then head over at SM MOA for Sesame Street’s Summer Fiesta.  Meet and greet your favorite sesame stars like Elmo, Cookie Monster, Ernie and Bert.  You need passes to get in and the good news is Smart Parenting is giving away five sets of passes of two. You just go over and comment on their post and the most creative comment wins. I’m still thinking if we would go because Z didn’t grow up watching Sesame Street. That’s thanks to our cable less TV. Now if it was Spongebob then that’s a different matter....
