March is the Month for Students...

March is the month when students will be honored for their school achievements. We have just received a letter from my son’s school that they will be having a ceremony this March. I was surprised because my son is home schooled. They said the students will be performing and receiving trophies for their achievement. I am excited toe see my son on stage performing. He loved their Christmas party last December and I’m sure he will love this event...

We’re Back from Bohol...

We just came back from our 8-day vacation! It was a truly memorable one for the whole family. I’m sure each one of us left a small piece of our heart in the island of Bohol – well, except baby Zack who is still too young to remember it all! Anyway, we took a lot of pictures which I will show you in a few days. I honestly don’t know where to start because of the sheer volume of pictures. I hope it’s just as easy as organizing it like a bunch of products in industrial shelving but how would you organize the memories of your whole family? Hubby...

Acid Cigars for Hubby’s Boss...

One of the perks of my hubby’s current job is his work hours can be flexible. It also helps that he has an understanding boss who knows how important family is. His boss even encourages him to spend time with his family. We had an 8-day vacation out of town and his boss agreed for him to take a leave for 6 days (2 days fall on a weekend). If he’s with another company then they surely won’t allow him to take a leave for that long. I’m glad my husband is lucky in that area. I hope we can give his boss a small gift as appreciate. Maybe we can look for...

We Finally Got a No Exam Life Insurance ...

After various posts about not having life insurance, I’m so happy to report that our family finally has one. Yahoo! We had a pleasant surprise one day when we heard our neighbor knocking on our door. It turned out she was an insurance agent from Insular Life. She offered us her products but at first I wasn’t interested because it was way too expensive for us. Finally, after six visits I finally got I was looking for. An inexpensive term life insurance that our family needed. If the looking for the perfect product part was long, the processing of the documents...

My Hubby’s Guitars...

My husband loves to play the guitar. He has been playing since he was in his teens. He said he broke his very first guitar and his Dad didn’t buy him ever since. So when he was older he wanted to buy lots of guitars. When he was working the very first thing he brought with his bonus money was an ibanez. It is a big guitar with a rich orange hue. He takes care of it like it was his child that sometimes I’ll get jealous. LOL! He bought a big case to protect it and I remember it would take a big space in our really small apartment. He wanted to display it...

Frugal Grandma...

One thing that I learned from my grandma is to be frugal. She raised me single handedly. Now that I am a mother and raising two kids with my husband I can’t help but wonder how she did it. It must have been tough raising his granddaughter and taking care of his elderly father and surviving on a teacher’s salary. She must have scrimped and saved coins to make ends meet. She did a great job, in my opinion, because although I don’t have that much toys I felt well taken cared of. She even saved enough for me us to ride an airplane to visit my aunt in Samar...

Perfect Gift for the Family...

Gosh, I can’t believe Christmas is almost here. This Christmas will be more memorable for us because we now have two lovable kids in our lives. I am now racking my head what gifts to give them as early as now. I know the most in demand christmas gifts 2011 are useful gadgets like the iPad 2. I’m glad we already have that one in the house. LOL! Anyway, to be different I’m thinking of giving a more personal gift. I want to give something that I made myself for my family. Maybe it’ll just be a photo book that I arranged myself. It would be a perfect...

Our Friends are Getting Married...

Turning 30 was great because finally our friends started getting married. It was too late for our own standards (or we just did it too early) because about that time we already had two beautiful babies! We started receiving more and more wedding invitations as our friends started walking down the aisle one by one. Suddenly, we can talk about babies and we don’t just get a blank stare in return. haha! Anyway, I never expected to be one of the first to get married but I don’t regret anything. I love being a work-at-home mom more than anything in the...

Long Drive...

My hubby’s car stereo broke down a few months ago. Good thing we have the sirius to accompany him during his long drives. It proved to be invaluable when he had to drive to Subic which is about 3 hours from here. He said the drive was boring and there was danger for drivers to fall asleep on the wheel. He didn’t get much sleep the previous night so he was feeling drowsy too. The lively music from the radio accompanied him throughout and helped him survive the long...

Man of Steel Sneak Peek...

Just looking at leaked pictures makes me super excited for the next Superman movie starring Henry Cavill. Entitled, Man of Steel, this movie promised to be much different than the previous Superman series. According to the synopsis that leaked, “A young reporter named Clark Kent roams the world covering various news stories. When he is compelled to use his secret powers to intervene in a crisis in West Africa, he returns to Smallville to learn more about his origins and the hero he was born to be.” An earlier promotion shot featured Cavill breaking into a huge...
